‘Tis The Season For Wine Tasting

Fa-la-la-la-la La-la La-la!

Yep, you got it! There's a perfect time for everything indeed, including wine tours and tasting. It may not be the peak of the season, but we are certainly getting closer and closer to the point in time when you say that wine tasting has never been more perfect. Before the weather is at its perfect temperament, and when the winery has produced and aged enough drinks for wine enthusiasts, today is the perfect time to do some planning as to when and where you can do some wine tasting this Spring.

So, when exactly is the perfect time to visit the wineries?

Well, according to USA Today, in an article "The Best Time to Visit Wine Country":

Sonoma Valley and Napa Valley offer pleasant countryside drives, where you'll see green vines, wildflower meadows, animal herds, pastel skies and fruitful trees. During the peak season, California wine country grapes are in full production, which piques the curiosity of any professed wine lover. According to the California Wine Institute, 20 million people visit California's 2,843 bonded wineries for tastings and tours each year. Therefore, it's essential that you know the best time to avoid congestion.

Furthermore,  the article shares 5 important things to consider when choosing the perfect time to do your wine tasting. Specifically these are: Weather, Scenery, Winemaking Tours, Events, Traffic and Availability.

In another article, When to Visit Wine Country, it suggests that March can actually be the best time to do some wine tasting:

When to visit wine country? Any time is a great time to visit the California wine country. Each time of the year brings its own unique aura and feel to a wine country getaway. Even a cold raining day is a “cool” day in wine country.

Now – March 2015
March is the time to think of serious wine country travel. The weather is warmer and the pruned but bare vineyards look splendid. Trees are blossoming and wildflowers become more abundant. It is still quiet in March so travel deals can be found. If the unseasonably warm weather we had in February continues, there will certainly be bud break before the end of March.

If you need more time to prepare thought, April all throughout May can definitely be just as perfect time to do wine tasting and tours.
